It's back to school, which means that it's time to say goodbye to sleeping in and bingeing anime on weekdays, and hello to homework and exams. If you're a student or a staff member who is dreading kissing summer goodbye, take comfort in the fact that you're not going to one of these horrible anime schools.
1. Fujimi Academy - High School Of The Dead
As you might have surmised from the name of the anime, Fujimi Academy is overrun with zombies. Unless you like getting your brains sucked out by undead monsters, you do not want to be at this school. Even worse, there are teachers like Koichi Shido, who brainwashes the surviving students into making babies in order to repopulate the zombie-ravaged country and rule over them as his subjects. Gross. 2. Yomiyama North Middle School - Another
While most classes in Yomiyama North Middle School are perfectly normal, Class 3-3 is a disaster waiting to happen. Thanks to a curse that was placed on the class in the 1970's, mass deaths occur unless an extremely specific protocol is followed - and since the protocol isn't well-understood and often fails, these deaths occur often. If you're grouchy because you got the only Social Studies teacher who assigns 20-page essays, be grateful you aren't in the class that gets slaughtered.
3. Hachimitsu Academy - Prison School
You think your school is unfair? Try going to Hachimitsu Academy, a private school where the rules are so strict that breaking even the smallest one will get you thrown into the school's prison block. There, you'll wear a striped uniform, do hard labor, and endure bizarre, torturous games at the hands of the warden.
4. Duel Academy - Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
This school was created by Seto Kaiba, so you know there's got to be something wrong with it. Ostensibly created to teach students how to play Duel Monsters, this school is regularly attacked by supernatural forces. Hundreds of students went missing in one shot, kids get kidnapped on the regular, and half of the teachers are would-be murderers. Oh, and there's a bizarre system of stratification where poor duelists contend with bare bones living conditions and skilled duelists live like kings. Feel better about going back to school yet?
