One of the most exciting things about new anime seasons are the sequels. While new titles certainly have their charm, it's hard to beat that joyful feeling you get when a series you already love announces that it will soon be continuing. This year, there have already been a wide range of great sequels, to shows like One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100, Forest of Piano and more. Let's look ahead to the sequels coming up in the latter half of 2019 and get pumped!
1. Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon: Season 2
If you loved watching Bell Cranel traverse through the titular dungeon and encounter wildly attractive gods along the way, you can look forward to more of the same in Season Two, which debuts this summer. It's not clear yet what the new season will cover, but it's sure ot be a good time.
2. My Hero Academia: Season 4
My Hero Academia is wildly popular superhero anime about a teenage boy named Izuku who is training along with his classmates to become a professional hero. Thanks to the League of Villains and other enemies, his path to heroism is anything but simple. In the fourth season, Izuku and his friends will have to deal with a new threat unlike any they've ever seen before. Will they come out unscathed? We'll have to wait until October to find out!
3. Psycho-Pass: Season 3
Psycho-Pass depicts a world in which people's lives are dictated by the Sybil System, which can supposedly predict whether or not a person will turn to a life of crime. Akane Tsunemori begins the series unsure of what to think, but as she learn the dark secrets behind the Sybil System, she begins to turn against it. In previous seasons, Akane and her team have had to take on a criminal who couldn't be interpreted or punished by the rigid system, but who was clearly a criminal. Exactly what the third season will cover is still unknown, but if it's anywhere near as awesome as the first, it's worth getting hyped about.
4. A Certain Scientific Accelerator
Accelerator has always been one of the most popular characters in A Certain Magical Index, which is why it's so exciting to see him getting his own spin-off series. Though he remains one of the most powerful espers in Academy City, Accelerator is just trying to lead a quiet life. His desired peace is interrupted when he rescues Estelle Rosenthal, a young girl carrying a picture of another girl with exceptional powers, Last Order. This drags him into a conspiracy where he'll be forced to play the hero and save Last Order from a mysterious group that want to use her for nefarious purposes.
5. Chihayafuru: Season 3
Chihayafuru isn't quite as well-known as some of the other anime on this list, but it's worth your attention anyway. It follows Chihaya, a girl who will stop at nothing to become the greatest karuta player in the world - karuta being a card game based around traditional Japanese poetry. The third season debuts in Fall 2019, so if you're not familiar with Chihaya and her team, you have plenty of time to get caught up. Which sequels are you most looking forward to this year? Let us know in the comments.
