Gearbox Studios has given us our first look at Borderlands 3 after five long years in development. The announcement was made during PAX East 2019 by Gearbox President and CEO, Randy Pitchford and his bedazzled shirt.
Let the hype commence for the return of the original shooter-looter franchise, Borderlands. No word on when the game will be released, but from the looks of the trailer, we can expect more of the mayhem we love from the series.
During the Gearbox presentation, they also revealed Ultra HD versions of the other Borderlands games. Borderlands Game of the Year Enhanced will be a remake of the original, with new improvements. Gearbox has added 4 Player split screen co-op and quality of life changes like a minimap of Pandora in the player’s UI. The refreshed Borderlands Game of the Year Enhanced is coming to Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on April 3rd.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Ultra HD was also announced on stage with an updated texture package. The Handsome Collection includes Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre Sequel, and all of their DLC packs. For those who have already purchased the collection, they will receive a free texture update to allow the game to run in 4K Ultra HD for the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. This update will be pushed out on April 3rd.
With every single Borderlands game available on the current generation of consoles, and each title offering saved file share, players will be able to bring the entire Borderlands story into the upcoming Borderlands 3. This means that some of the mayhem is already here, and more will be coming soon. Be sure to check back on Senpai Project for more information on Borderlands 3.
